KB Fastpitch 18u Hauck Thanks You!

 

After 9 years as a team, Canada Cup was the last hurrah for our 12 HS Seniors and 4 Juniors and they went out with a bang!  We tied for 5th place in the Championship (Gold) Bracket with the Chinese Taipei Junior National team against a field of international teams, national title contenders, and teams made up of players who have already played a year at college.  We took down a couple college teams, including one crazy, come from behind victory that left our opponents (and parents!) stunned.  

 

Herb Brooks believed that you win with team chemistry and our coaching staff spent 9 years creating a team culture that is positive, resilient, selfless, and supportive, with players always eager to learn more and get better.  We don't have a team of Power 4 superstars- we have a group of young women that would walk through fire for each other, both in softball and life.

 

All good things must come to an end and this team will scatter to different parts of the US to take their next steps in life, but I have 100% confidence that the player group chat will be active for years to come.

 

Thank you to our assistant coaches Wes Barcalow, Dan Donohue, and Kali Petitt for bringing your strengths to complement my skills and being positive role models for these young women.

 

Thanks to all the parents for being ready to leap into action for hydrations and snacks, organizing meal logistics, reviewing hotels, occasional first-aid, and most of all... for buying into the vision of our team.

 

Thanks to our founders Robert Connor and Brian Ingersoll for recognizing a need in our area- a fastpitch club that welcomes and supports multi-sport athletes, inspiring each player to develop and succeed to become the best versions of themselves on and off the field, through positive coaching.

 

And a special thanks to my wife and all of the coach spouses for supporting us, our daughters, and the team throughout all of the crazy schedules and travel plans.

 

To quote Ted Lasso (quoting The Sound of Music)... "So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good night."
